Luke's Lifeline Foundation

Luke’s Lifeline Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established to provide durable medical equipment to children who are in need but their families are unable to afford such necessary, life altering equipment.

Luke's Story

Luke’s Lifeline Foundation was created to honor a very brave boy named Luke. Luke was an IVF fraternal twin born in Panama City, FL where his family was stationed. Because the twins were born prematurely at 33 weeks, they each had to spend time in the NICU immediately after birth. It was discovered Luke had a stroke in utero, grade IV Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH), and needed a VP shunt placed ASAP due to Hydrocephalus. At 13 days old he took his first emergency life flight via helicopter to Shands Children’s Hospital at the University of Florida. At 18 days old, weighing less than five pounds, he had his first brain surgery. In total Luke had 14 surgeries (5 brain related) four helicopter life flights, an airplane transport and numerous ambulance transports.

At eight months old, the Air Force moved Luke and his family to Omaha, Nebraska. It was there he became a Brand Ambassador for ImaginAble Solutions, Zing, Little Rebels with a Cause, Attento Board, and TinySuperheroes. He was selected for a website photoshoot with his favorite toy company, Fat Brain Toys! What an honor! Luke was even able to play a season of baseball through the AllPlay Miracle League. It’s safe to say, Luke’s parents ensured he lived the best life he possibly could and was included in everything his twin and younger brother did! Unfortunately, Luke lost his battle to Epilepsy on August 7, 2024 at just two years, nine months and nine days old. He was laid to rest in the Omaha National Cemetery.
